The Black Ice Project: Africville Research & Reparations Committee

New York City. 09/26/05. The Stryker-Indigo Publishing Company, Inc, The Dan San Organization, and The Society of North American Hockey Historians & Researchers announced that they have established The Africville Research & Reparations Committee in an effort to assist the Africville Geneaological Society in documenting the history of Africville, Nova Scotia, Canada from 1790 to 1970. Specifically, the Committee will be mandated to investigate, identify, and review Canadian, British, American and Jamaican historic and legal records for the purpose of aiding the original Africville families in their ongoing legal and political fight for land and financial reparations. The Committee, part of The Black Ice Project, will be comprised of North American historians and legal experts.
